For example a size 26 carbon prosthetic foot will not measure solely 26cm in length without the shell. It will measure 26cm when it is used with correct shell. In other words the rubber shell will always be longer than the actually carbon foot. The designated size of the carbon foot is also considering the additional length added by the correct shell.
