To determine Your Size: Measure the joint circumference of your Proximal InterPhalangeal joint (PIP) (this is the second finger joint from the tip of each finger) and choose the size from the table below: Size Finger circumference 0: 38 – 42 mm 1: 42 – 48 mm 2: 48 – 53 mm 3: 53 – 55 mm 4: 55 – 60 mm 5: 60 – 65 mm 6: 65 – 70 mm Use: For protecting injured finger and keeping it in right position for faster healing. Allows more ventilation to injured finger than a heavy dressing or bandage. Protects finger from further injury during healing. Directions: Cleanse finger and wound. Stop any bleeding by direct pressure on wound using a clean gauze pad and elevating hand until bleeding has stopped. Apply small amount of antibiotic cream to any areas of broken skin. If skin is broken, use a small non-stick sterile gauze pad on wound. Wrap the gauze around finger 1-2 times. To secure the dressing, wrap thin strips of adhesive tape around gauze 1-2 times. Place the finger in the center of splint and gently apply pressure around splint. Splint should be snug but not tight. Secure splint to finger at the base with enclosed thin strip of adhesive Velcro tape, as shown on the picture. Wrap around finger once firmly but not too tight.If finger becomes blue, cold, or numb, loosen tape slightly.
