Mr Vanhegan provides high-quality medicolegal reports in matters of personal injury and clinical negligence accepting instructions from solicitors and medicolegal agencies.  Drawing on his experience as a full-time NHS consultant with a busy acute on-call practice he is well-placed to provide an expert opinion on a wide range of orthopaedic matters. He has experience giving evidence in Court (reference available on request) and can offer appointments in London, Wessex and domiciliary visits. He is a well-regarded expert whose medicolegal work has taken him further afield with instructions in Jersey, Gibraltar and the Cayman Islands.

Credentials & Courtroom Experience

Mr Vanhegan has completed the recognised Bond Solon ‘Expert Witness Report Writing’ course and regularly attends their annual meeting in London.

He has given evidence in Court, most notably as an expert for the defence in the landmark 2024 English personal injury case: Williams-Henry v Associated British Ports ([2024] EWHC 806 KB), where the claimant was found to be fundamentally dishonest.
